Your stock OEM clutch line usually consists of a hard metal line and a short rubber line to allow engine movement. The issue with the soft rubber line (like anything that is made out of rubber) is that they expand under heat and pressure creating the spongy feeling when you step on your clutch pedal.

This will give you SOLID and FIRM pressure as your step on the clutch regardless if you've been driving for 10 hours straight in the Baja dessert race or ANY driving or temperature conditions for that matter.
